Our corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in Kyoto, in the Kansai region of Japan, approximately 690 km (340 miles) southwest of the recent earthquake’s epicenter in the Miyagi, Tohoku region. Also, SAMCO is located more than 550 km (340 miles) southwest of Fukushima (also in the Tohoku region), the site of the damaged Fukushima Nuclear Power Station. Fortunately, SAMCO has not been and will not be affected by the radioactive fallout in the Tohoku region. Nevertheless, our hearts and minds are with all the people and their families who have been affected by the recent disasters in Japan.
None of SAMCO’s employees were injured in the earthquake that struck Japan on Friday, March 11, 2011.  Our Sendai office will be closed until further notice due to the earthquake; however, all of our other offices will remain open and under normal operation. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to those affected by the earthquake, and our sincerest hope that no further damage will be sustained. We will do our utmost to support our customers in the course of their recovery from the earthquake.
