Kyoto, Japan – June 2, 2025 — On June 2, Samco Inc. (TSE: 6387) welcomed seven students from Kyoto University’s Short-Term Academic Research (KU-STAR) Program for India 2025 to its Kyoto headquarters. The students are currently participating in a 59-day academic exchange hosted by Kyoto University, which includes research internships, Japanese language learning, and visits to companies in Japan.
The group was selected from over 500 applicants and includes students from leading Indian institutions such as IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Hyderabad, and IISc Bangalore. Their academic backgrounds span biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry, sustainable technologies, and materials science.
At Samco, the students toured the production floor and cleanroom to see how semiconductor equipment is manufactured. They also visited the company’s in-house museum, which highlights Samco’s early days and development over the years.
The visit included a presentation by Samco engineer Dr. Hemanth, who spoke about his experience moving from India to Japan, his role at the company, and the technologies Samco works on. The students also had the chance to meet Samco founder and CEO Mr. Osamu Tsuji, who shared a few words and encouraged them in their future studies and careers.

Samco appreciates the opportunity to engage with students through the KU-STAR Program and looks forward to continued collaboration with Kyoto University.
